With only four days of school left, summer is almost here. For most of us, summer break is the most anticipated time of the year. With the warm weather and no school, there are so many fun things that you can do. So what is everyone doing for summer break?
Over the summer many students go on family vacation. “Over summer I am going to visit family in Texas,” said freshman Madeline Banks. Another freshman, Wendy Garcia, is “going to California with my family.”
“I will be traveling to see my brother play basketball,” said freshman Brynn Ayala. All three girls are also planning on having cheer practice all summer.
Other students are going on trips for sports and also just for fun. Senior Celine Toulassie is planning on going to Paris and Africa this summer for her senior trip. Sophomore Camden Pfeiffer is “going to Omaha for a baseball trip.”
Summer is also the season to spend time with friends, not do homework, and go on adventures. “I will be going on a road trip with my best friend around New Mexico and around the state,” said sophomore Evelyn Esparza. Junior Nizhoni Milton is excited to see old friends. “I’m driving to Santa Monica to visit my friends who live in California. We all met at camp in Seattle last summer so we’re planning to visit!”
Summer isn’t only for going on extravagant trips or adventures. Many students are planning on staying at home to play video games, go swimming, and hang out with friends. “I will be swimming all summer long with my friends and family, and I will watch a lot of Netflix!” said freshman Brianna Aragon.
There are so many fun things to do over the summer and these are just a few of them. Try to get the most out of your summer break. Like Jiahou Lou said, “Summer break is a time to take a break from school and have fun!”
