Summer is fast approaching, and as a teen what are you going to do? Most of us have outgrown walking around the mall, looking at stuff we aren’t going to buy, and we are a little old to be at Cliffs. So what else might you be able to do in this very dry, sandy state we call New Mexico. You could do some of the following.

  • Tingly Beach -If you plan to fish you need a valid NM fishing license, and admission to the ponds is free.
  • Botanic Gardens (Always a good date idea.) Gates open 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily.
  • Aquarium/ Zoo- Gates open 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily.

Adults 13-64: $12.50/$20

Senior 65+: $5.50/$10

Children 3-12: $4/$6

Children under 3 are free

  • White Sands

$3.00 per person

  • Summerfest
  • Isotopes
  • Concerts

Look online for dates, performers and pricing (prices may vary).

  • Hiking in the Sandias

$3.00 to park in certain areas of the mountain

  • Rio Grande Nature Center
  • Petroglyph National Monument

$3.00-$5.00 parking fee

  • Volcanoes

Free parking and admission

  • Off Roading

The dunes out by Isleta Amphitheater and the very end of Southern in Rio Rancho are the two easiest places to go off roading.

Also please be responsible doing any of the following activities.
