As the season is transitioning from Fall to Winter, many sports are getting prepared to take home the State trophy.
Boys’ and girls’ soccer end their season this weekend with their state tournament. Our boys’ soccer team has an impressive record this year, winning 15 games, losing two, and tying one game. The girls are also killing it this season with a record of 16 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie. They plan on taking home both state titles, and they’re all extremely excited. “Going into state as the number one seed gives us confidence, but seeds don’t mean anything unless we take home the blue trophy,” said Joseph Keller, junior on boys’ varsity soccer.
Bear football is also getting ready for playoffs, and they play Clovis High School this weekend. If they win the game this Friday, the boys will move up to the 9th seed or remain in the 10th seed. If they lose, they could possibly move down to the 11th seed, which would still keep them in for playoffs. With a record of 6 wins and 3 losses, Bear football exceeded everyone’s expectations this season. “We’ve only been to the playoffs once, my sophomore year, so we are really excited and think that we have a good chance of going far in the playoffs,” said Josh Woisin, senior football player.
