La Cueva Eats All of the Cookies at Yuletide Tournament

Marshall Ma | News

Rio Grande High School’s annual Christmas tournament for speech and debate rolled around yet again. And yet again, La Cueva dominated. The speech and debate team completely rocked all preliminary rounds, sending teams into semifinals in almost every event. Further, La Cueva placed in almost every event. This resulted in the awarding of the Yule Log, an honorary award for having most people in out-rounds. Of course, La Cueva also received 1st place in sweepstakes. Lastly, La Cueva received 3rd place in the spirit award for having a very nicely decorated table. The Yuletide Classic is by far the most exciting tournament of the year, filled with amiable competition and lots of Christmas spirit. According to Keana Kast, “It already feels like Christmas!”
