Make Thanksgiving an all day eating experience by preparing delectable fruit and cream streusel squares for a breakfast treat!
Ingredients for crust:
¾ cup melted butter or margarine
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup powdered sugar
Ingredients for filling:
12 ounces fruit jam of your choice
¼ cup all-purpose flour
Ingredients for topping:
8 ounces softened cream cheese
½ cup powdered sugar
¼ cup chopped walnuts
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix melted butter, flour, and powdered sugar until crumbly. Save ¼ cup of crust for the topping and sprinkle the remaining crust evenly over the bottom of a pan.
- To make the filling, combine jam and flour in a small bowl and mix until smooth. Spread the filling mixture evenly over the crust.
- For the topping, whisk softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Put the topping in a piping bag and pipe in diagonal rows onto jam mixture. Sprinkle chopped walnuts and the rest of the crust mixture over the top.
- Bake for 30-35 min or until edges are light golden brown and let cool before cutting into squares.
