Looking for a great slice of pizza? Then you’ve come to the right place! Over the years I’ve gone to almost every pizza joint in Albuquerque and have compiled a list of the best places in descending order that you will absolutely love!
1. Giovanni’s Pizzeria – Giovanni’s is the absolute best pizza place I’ve ever been! It’s old-fashioned New York style pizza that will make your mouth water. The cheese is stringy and absolutely delicious. All the toppings are extremely flavorful and melt in your mouth. If you’re looking for a good ol’ fashioned, greasy piece of pizza, this is the place for you. The traditional pepperoni is my favorite. While it’s a bit further, it’s well worth the drive.

2. Amore – Amore is an authentic Neapolitan pizzeria that uses delicious and fresh ingredients. In contrast to Giovanni’s, Amore is wood fired and tastes like it came directly out of Italy. Amore has wide variety of specialty pizzas to choose from including a white cream pizza, meatball pie, sausage and shroom, etc. My favorite is the Margherita with mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, basil, and oil.

3. Il Vicino – Like Amore, the pizza is wood-fired and absolutely delicious. Il Vicino is more like traditional American pizza with lots of cheese. Il Vicino offers a variety of toppings ranging from the normal pepperoni to goat cheese. My favorite is the pizza al pesto, which includes basil pesto, mozzarella, tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, toasted pine nuts, and basil. Il Vicino has locations throughout Albuquerque.

4. Farina Alto – If you’re looking for gourmet and unique pizza, Farina Alto is the place for you. The crust is crispy and light to the touch and is also wood-fired. While it’s a little more expensive than the other places, it is well worth the price. It features a wide array of gourmet toppings of everything from prosciutto to leaks. Every pizza is made to order and you’re guaranteed to get something delicious. If your health-conscious relative joins the party, the huge chopped salad at Farina Alto will keep them happy and occupied.

5.Golden Crown Panaderia – The Golden Crown is a Mexican bakery and the most unusual out of the five. First off, you can either eat it there or get a take n’ bake. There are a variety of crusts to choose from including blue corn, green chile, or regular. There is also the option to get gluten-free pizza. The crust is crispy and the best part because it’s handmade. The toppings are locally sourced and fresh which is always good. With your order you can get a wide selection of Mexican deserts including biscochitos and empanadas. The pumpkin empanada is a little taste of otono.
