In a recent Edition online survey about who people think will win the Super Bowl, the Broncos are in the lead with 22% of the vote. The Seahawks trail behind at 18%, eclipsed by votes by those who “don’t watch” at 25%.
The Cowboys and the Steelers each received 9% of the votes for a championship season.
The last category people voted on was “all of these teams are terrible,” garnering 18% of the votes, tied with the Seahawks.
The Broncos may be in the lead because of being close to winning the championship the past few years. Peyton Manning, the quarterback for the Broncos and person responsible for holding the team together, is a fan favorite and that is another reason for people believing the Broncos have a chance this year.
The Seahawks have been in the Super Bowl the last two years and won in 2013. Their history proves that they are a good team and have a chance to win again this year; therefore, the fans have confidence in them this year.
Shifting fandom reverence to completely irrelevant, the category “I don’t watch football” received the most votes. Others prefer teams not represented in the survey.
With an unpredictable season ahead, it’s hard to say which team will win Superbowl glory. Unless you’re a Broncos fan.
