El Niño

Shannon Ford | NEWS WRITER

Although this year’s predictions for El Niño have been inconsistent, meteorologists have finally come to a conclusion: this year will be an El Niño year. El Niño is a movement that causes the ocean in the Equatorial Pacific to become warmer than usual. Because of this, snowfall in New Mexico, Southern California, Arizona, southern Utah, and Colorado increases in El Niño years. Skiers and snowboarders should start gearing up for the upcoming season.
