Obscure Sports and Clubs at La Cueva High School

At La Cueva High School there are fun sports and clubs to participate in besides all the well-known sports like football, volleyball, and soccer. Bowling, ultimate frisbee, ping-pong, hockey, and rugby are all activities at La Cueva. “I am on the ultimate frisbee team and it’s really interesting; it wasn’t what I was expecting it to be. I didn’t really know about it at first but I am really glad that I joined. We would love for more people to join,” said Robin Oetting, sophomore.

Rugby starts in February. The rugby team won their state tournament last year and are a good possibility for state this year. Andrew Aragon, senior, says, “ I think we are going to have about six players from last year come back so that will be good.”

Bowling and ping pong are also at La Cueva and are very fun, though often overlooked. Bowling is a great opportunity, and if you are a senior, you have the opportunity to win scholarship money. Both these teams would gladly welcome new players.

At La Cueva, Key Club has great volunteering opportunities; it creates an amazing feeling of helping others while with your friends at a volunteering event. Key club is always open to new members and the meetings are every Monday at 6:30 in the lecture hall!

I didn’t know that there were so many extra activities at La Cueva.
